Celebrate All Things Belgian Saturday, July 23rd!
We are keeping tradition alive with a Belgian Day celebration on Saturday, July 23rd! Festivities include the release of a new beer, a Belgian waffle food truck, fresh-made frites, and an outdoor market featuring local vendors at the Washington Street taproom. In addition, we will be tapping eight different Belgian-style classics and modern interpretations from the cellar.
To kick off Belgian Day, which is the celebration of Belgian independence, we will be releasing a Dubbel, a dark, abbey-style brew with intensely fruity notes reminiscent of caramelized figs, rum-raisins, and deep candied-malt finish. A traditional Trappist beer, dubbels tend to be stronger and fairly heavy bodied. This recipe is a nod to the original Dubbel that we crafted ten years ago. Dubbel will be available on draft and in 375ml bottles at both taprooms.
Because one Belgian beer is just not enough, we will be tapping other notable Belgian styles including quadrupels, saisons, tripels, and perennial favorites like River North White and J. Marie saison. To go with the Belgian beers the Washington Street taproom will be offering free Belgian frites with full pours from 1-2pm. There will also be a local outdoor market at the Washington Street taproom hosted by Salt and Pepper Apparels from 1-6pm with 20+ vendors, a live DJ and Wafels & Dinges will be on-site with waffles of all varieties for purchase.
