Corundum, our sour jam!
It’s been too long since we had a sour on tap. So we’re bringing back one of our best, a beer not seen in one full year!
Corundum, our tart red ale aged in red wine barrels with cherries and hibiscus, returns this Saturday 9/17 at Noon.
One of our favorite beers from last year, Corundum pours a brilliant ruby red befitting of its moniker. And like its namesake, Corundum is a product of time and patience, spending eleven months developing in wine barrels.
Tart and quenching, the first sip hits your palate with a bracing sourness, followed by herbal notes from the hibiscus and a fruity burst reminiscent of cherry pie. Still, the beer finishes dry, enticing you back to savor it again. As with any barrel-aged beer, Corundum can vary from batch to batch. We find this year’s vintage to be slight more acidic than the original, and a touch lower on the oak tannins. If you’re a fan of mouth-puckering sour beers, this is your jam.
We’ll have Corundum on tap to enjoy here, and in both bottles and brand new crowlers to go! No limit on to-go beer, plus food by local newcomer Spudz foodtruck. Corundum will see limited distribution outside the taproom following the release, so if you dig this beer as much as we do, get here Saturday.
Cheers,
RNB
